5 Tips for Long-Lasting Bridal Makeup
Bridal makeup has to survive a full day of emotion, heat, and hugs — so a little extra prep goes a long way. Here's what our team does for every bride to keep her look flawless from the morning ceremony to the last dance.
1. Start with skin prep, not foundation. A clean, well-moisturised, primed face is what actually makes makeup last — foundation just sits on top of whatever base you give it.
2. Build makeup in thin layers. Several light layers set between each step wear far better than one heavy layer, and photograph more naturally too.
3. Set strategically, not everywhere. Heavy setting powder all over can look cakey by evening — we set only the areas that move and sweat the most, like the T-zone.
4. Waterproof the essentials. Eyeliner, mascara and lip colour should always be waterproof or long-wear formulas, since happy tears are part of every wedding.
5. Carry a small touch-up kit. Blotting sheets, a travel-size setting spray and your lip colour are all a bride needs to freshen up between the ceremony and the reception.
